7 Moments I am grateful for from 2025, #3: A fall of seeing friends while on the road.
It would be a disservice to the people who hosted me to break down the progression in a list - but this message, if we crossed paths this fall of 2025 - is directly for you. You made this fall what it was. I could not have (logistically or spiritually) done it without you, and you are an integral part of the art and the momentum forward carried from this special time of my life, where the vague idea to “lead a more artistic life” manifested in ways unforeseen - which was in retrospect, the point. When we plan everything, we might get what we plan, or slightly less. The more challenging way of moving about, I am discovering (with heaps of help) is to plan less, to not know exactly what is next, to forsake soundbites for acts of radical human discovery and empathy, and to be open to accepting the gifts that the universe has to offer when you don’t expect anything particular to happen at all… all there is left is to pay attention, to operate in the moment from a place of true integrity, harmony, openness. It’s been working extraordinarily well - as you - whom I am attempting to thank without naming (all of) you - already know. You know who you are. If you are even thinking for a fraction of a second “is this me?” - yes - it is you.
I am absolutely gifted to be so touched by so many people who see for my art and my career and my life things that exceed my wildest imaginings, and help me to make those crazy possibilities become rampant realities. Thank you.
